The cart bumbled down the mountains. It bounced and rocked on the dirt path. Josie fell into Owen multiple times.

"But you still won't tell me what we're doing?" she asked.

"It's a surprise." Owen grinned.

"You! Cart driver, Mr Willy, sir. I demand to know this instant!" Josie huffed and slammed her foot into the cart.

"She's joking," Owen said.

"I have escorted many spoiled princesses," Willy said. "Gods bless those lords and princes who see fit to court them."

"Heheh, princess," Josie said.

"Careful, Willy, this one's mine. I've seen what you're capable of, ya dirty dog."

Willy turned and tipped his hat. "What happens at the feast stays at the feast."

"To be left waiting for the next feast. But, all jokes aside…" Owen put his arm around Josie. "Mine." He grinned.

He knew Willy was no threat, nor that he would even consider taking another man's girl.

He was just doing it to make Josie happy. And from the beaming grin she gave him, a sparkling galaxy of stars in her eyes, he knew she was ecstatic.
